Best Melee Weapons to Use in Tombs of Amascut

Here are the top melee weapons you can use to fend off the bosses in Tombs of Amascut.

To complete the raid and earn OSRS gold, you will need to solve puzzles and use all three combat styles to fight the four path bosses, followed by the last room where you will encounter two wardens. After defeating the wardens one by one, you will be able to access your rewards chest, in which you'll find standard loot and raid uniques that can be worth up to 1.7 billion OSRS Gold.

The unique drop rate and potential will be dictated by your selected invocations and raid difficulty level, and the most optimal way to earn rewards is the expert mode, which requires 300 invocation points, and which will unlock all of the tradeable uniques.

Melee Gear Should Be A Priority

Even though your magic and ranged gear are essential when speaking about the raids, your melee gear should have priority because of some bosses or boss phases that are especially susceptible to melee attacks. Besides your best melee strength gear, there are a few considerations you need to take. One of them is the switches, or how many inventory spots you will occupy with additional gear. While a Torva helm will be better while you use your melee weapon, a Netiznot Faceguard will help you when using magic or even ranged, for example. The same goes for the Amulet of Torture, Amulet of Fury, Ferocious, and the Barrows gloves. Especially if you're new to this, the fewer switches you have, the easier it will be for you. You should also consider bringing just the Bandos Godsword instead of the Bandos Godsword plus the Dragon Claws, even though the Dragon Claws work better as the spec weapon. Then, of course, there’s the matter of how much OSRS gold you’re willing to spend for the weapons themselves.

Unless you bring the best in slot melee weapon or the second best in slot melee weapon, you should bring your Keris partisan to fight Kephri since its passive ability will do more damage to this particular boss. Use a Dragon or Avernic defender as your offhand for any of the following weapons when using melee as your combat style in Tombs of Amascut

1. Abyssal Dagger

The cheapest option for melee weapons that are good in Tombs of Amascut is the Abyssal Dagger. You can buy it from the grand exchange for over two mil OSRS GP or get it as a drop from abyssal demons or the slayer boss, the abyssal sire. This weapon will give you a +75 stab attack bonus and +40 slash attack bonus, and a +75 strength bonus.

2. Zamorakian Hasta

An even more powerful stab weapon you can use in Tombs of Amascut is the Zamorakian hasta. You can buy it from the GE for over eight mil OSRS GP, or you can obtain it from Krill in the God Wars Dungeon in the form of a Zamorakian spear. You can take the spear to Otto near the Barbarian Assault minigame, who will upgrade it into a hasta in exchange for a 300k OSRS GP fee. It is mainly used in its upgraded form as the Dragon Hunter Lance, even though it has slightly lower stats, so you could also bring the Dragon Hunter Lance in the raids if you don't want to spend money specifically on this weapon.

The drawback to this weapon is more related to your OSRS account progression as you will only be able to use it after completing both the barbarian Fishing and the barbarian Smithing training. This means you will also have to o through the Tai Bwo Wannai Trio before wielding it.

It will give you a +80 stab attack bonus and a +75 melee strength bonus on top of a plus two prayer bonus which could help you conserve your prayer pots or super restores for longer. As with the Abyssal Dagger, you will need a level 70 attack to use it.

3. Ghrazi Rapier

The Ghrazi Rapier was the best in slot stab weapon before the release of Tombs of Amascut and is now the second strongest stab weapon. You can buy it from the grand exchange for about 100 mil OSRS GP or obtain it as a unique drop from Theatre of Blood. You'll need a level 80 attack to wield it, and you'll get a +94 stab attack bonus and a +89 melee strength bonus.

This amazing weapon has one of the highest damage outputs of all melee weapons, and it will serve you well in defeating various bosses inside Tombs of Amascut. You can even use it against Kephri instead of a Keris Partisan.

4. Osmumten’s Fang

The best in slot melee weapon you can use in Tombs of Amascut is one of the raids' unique drops, Osmumten's fang. You will need a level 82 attack to use it, giving you +105 stab damage and a +103 strength bonus.

You can buy it from the Grand Exchange for around 130 mil OSRS GP, which is not even a tenth of the price for either the best in slot magic or ranged weapons you can use in Tombs of Amascut.
